River Avon, Evesham, Worcestershire, River Bank Protection - Sheet Piles

Sheet pilesSheet piles

Project:

Install permanent steel sheet piles to act as a riverbank edging through a public park in Evesham.

Details:

The job involved positioning our rig on plywood matting, working from the pedestrianised footway, which in itself was quite straightforward, however in addition to this we had to work around protected trees which lined the riverbank.

The piles were a light section, 5 m long which had to be installed to high tolerances due to the customer fitting a capping beam and rubbing strip after our works were complete.

The job was held up due to the River Avon flooding whilst we are on site.

As the piles were driven down onto the hard underlying bedrock they remained slightly high of their required depth. Ale Piling had to cut off the piles 100 mm above water level for the entire length of the wall.

Ale Pilings straightforward approach and specialist equipment made this job very successful.
